Como decía en el post anterior, la entrada en Granada fue preciosa, llegamos a primera hora de la mañana, y en esos momentos esta ciudad tiene una luz increíble:
No recuerdo el lugar en el que me alojé esta primera vez, lo que recuerdo es que cuando volví para hacer el reportaje de La Esperanza de Granada me quedé en Apoyo Mutuo, la casa de la señora María, un lugar en el que principalmente se alojan artesanos latino americanos que viajan por el continente. Esto hace que puedas hablar Castellano, ya que entre la cantidad voluntarios, de turistas y de gente que va a aprender Castellano, es una de las ciudades con más extranjeros de toda Nicaragua. En Apoyo Mutuo el precio por una cama en dormitorio compartido no llegaba a los 3 o 4 euros. Tiene cocina y la señora María es encantadora.
Desde Granada fui en ferry a la Isla de Ometepe, una preciosa isla volcánica que se encuentra en medio del inmenso Lago Nicaragua. Me bajé en Altagracia y me quedé en el Hospedaje Ortiz, lugar digno de ver y Mario (el dueño), un hombre digno de conocer 😉
La isla es impresionante, está coronada por 2 volcanes (Concepción y Maderas) a los que se puede subir andando. Es el lugar perfecto para relajarse, bañarse en el lago, a pesar de ser uno de los pocos lugares del mundo en los que habita el tiburón toro de agua dulce, para pasear, recorrerla en bici o ir a Charco Verde, unas piscinas naturales cuyas aguas rejuvenecen cuerpo y alma (o eso dicen).
De Ometepe fui a la playa de San Juan del Sur, ya en el Pacífico nicaragüense, para pasar unos días antes de volver a Granada. Quitando los Bluefields y La Isla del Maíz (Corn Island), a los que no fui por falta de tiempo, San Juan del Sur es una de las mejores playas de Nicaragua. A mi no me acompañó el tiempo… empecé en centro américa en estación lluviosa y camino del invierno, que no es duro pero se nota en lugares altos. La fecha era: Octubre/Noviembre de 2008.
Todos los viajes en barco por el impresionante Lago Nicaragua me dejaron imágenes muy bonitas de atardeceres y de la vida en el lago. De algunas tengo fotos 😉
La belleza de estos parajes hacen entender porque el Lago Nicaragua y la isla de Ometepe luchaban por entrar en entre las maravillas naturales del mundo.
