Hoy ha empezado el Songkran, el año nuevo tailandés. Estoy en Chiang Mai, uno de los mejores lugares para celebrar esta festividad en Tailandia.
El Songkran son 3 días, el primero de celebración, el segundo para pasar con la familia y el tercero para dedicar a Buda… pero en Chiang Mai es mucho más, es tanto más que aquí empezó ayer y nosotros no teníamos ni idea (digo nosotros porque estoy con Roberto, un amigo, casi hermano, de Hortaleza). Bajábamos tan tranquilos del Doi Suthep con una moto que alquilamos y nuestras cámaras y documentación cuando de repente todo empezó a empaparse, empezando por la ciudad.
El vídeo es con la GoPro, es la entrada a la ciudad y el intento de llegar hasta el hostal para poder cambiarnos y hacernos con el armamento necesario para tal celebración:
Ya estamos listos y hoy hemos dado la talla, junto a Vane y Nico (parte del spanish crew de Malapascua), hemos superado la primera prueba… bueno, aún queda la noche.
El tema del agua es su forma de llamar a la estación lluviosa y de bendecir y bendecirse ante Buda, cualquier forma de lanzar el líquido elemento vale y nuestras potentes pistolas de 1500 power son una de ellas.
Hasta el domingo cierro por vacaciones, solo me queda deciros: ¡¡¡Sawatdi pi mai!!! (¡Feliz año nuevo!).
